About Us

Ladybirds was founded over 30 years ago and has a long and successful history of providing high quality pre-school education and care to different generations of children.

It is our aim to provide a caring, safe and stimulating environment for children aged between two and a half and five years old. We have a team of dedicated staff, who between them have many yearsโ€™ experience of looking after young children, encouraging them to develop, socialise and learn new skills ahead of their move to primary school. As you can expect all staff are DBS-checked and all staff have specialist paediatric first aid training. It is these staff that are at the very heart of our pre-school and make it such a special place for children to take their first steps into education.

Location

We are located at the St Andrewโ€™s Church of England Primary School site (an OUTSTANDING primary school) in the village of Chinnor, Oxfordshire. Our newly refurbished buildings are light, bright and spacious with modern kitchen and toilet facilities. We have a dedicated โ€œhome cornerโ€, โ€œmessy sinksโ€ and a reading and relaxing area for children. Our large outdoor play area gives children plenty of opportunities to explore and play with our outdoor equipment and also has a large covered shelter for poor weather days. The pre-school is accessed via Grafton Orchard at the heart of Chinnor and has excellent transport links and parking for parents.

Parents as Partners

One of the things that makes Ladybirds really special is the relationship that we build with our parents. We value good and open communication between parents and staff and aim to work in partnership with parents to meet the social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs of our children.

Your child will be allocated a Key Person from the day they start at Ladybirds who will help your child settle in and be responsible for keeping records on your childโ€™s progress. Any issues can be discussed with them in confidence and you are welcome to discuss your childโ€™s needs at any point.

Facilities and Equipment

We are very lucky to have built up a large treasure trove of toys and equipment over the years which means we can offer an impressive variety of activities to our children. Our staff carry out regular planning sessions to ensure that activities meet the EYFS curriculum but also offer a huge variety of opportunities to our children.
